With the vast popularity of cell phones over the last 10 years, I find it hard to believe these companies don’t possess the technology or fundage to eliminate dead areas within cell phone networks. I work in a somewhat rural area, and some companies have excellent service all the way around there, some have limited access, some have none at all. Is there a financial advantage or disadvatange to this? Are there legitimate reasons for this or is it just because they can? I would think that these companies are losing large sums of money because of this. But I don’t know, that’s why I asked…..

It is all about the money. It cost money to buy the land, than the parts for the cell towers, then the transportation, and the cost of labor. Would it be better to spend all this money where there is a greater sum of people, or a “rural” area, where their is not as much. It is all about money.
I purty much agree with the above answerer.
