hey, the problem is that you dont have the correct drivers for your hardware under your new operating system Vista, if you post the version of vista as well as the type of Hp Laptop you have (the type is written on the laptop just above the top right hand corner of the screen – Im running a HP Laptop at the moment) then I will be more than happy to give you further directions.

Just make sure you download the vista driver for that laptop’s wireless adapter. The XP adapter won’t work. (If there’s no Vista driver for the adapter for that laptop on HP’s site, you have 2 choices – reinstall XP, or buy a wireless adapter that comes with a Vista driver.)
